Chocolatier
The Chocolatier's Wife

On William's seventh birthday he finally finds out who his chosen one is.  It is a simple process that every baby goes through that involves a spell. It seems to work very well but in this case it has taken a few more years that usual.  Unfortunately William's wife to be is from the North where they use magic. William's family in the South aren't too impressed by his chosen one, even though they haven’t met her yet.

Tasmin is William's chosen one and her family isn't too keen on William either.  While they both grow up in these different environments, William and Tasmin keep in contact with each other via letters.  Tasmin longs to meet William but she is waiting for him to send for her and in the meanwhile she becomes an herb mistress and he opens a chocolate shop.

Through the letters Tasmin feels she knows her husband to be very well.  So when she hears that he has been imprisoned for murder she rushes like the wind to be with him.  Determined to get her fiancé out of prison, Tasmin does everything she can to prove his innocence and get his shop up and running again.

The more and more the couple try to finally get together the more and more things happen to keep them apart.  Will they ever make it to the altar or did that spell all those years ago really get it wrong?

This magical murder Cindy Lynn Speer wrote is in some ways like a fairy tale. You have the couple who are obviously meant to be for each other but of course, like all good stories, their families are against them.  This is a fun, tasty read with two adorable main characters to whom readers can relate.

This story is made even more special as each chapter begins with a letter from Tasmin or William.  It is a pleasure to follow their correspondence from when they found out about each other till the day they meet.   The reader can really get to know both of them and understand how well suited they are.

Likeable and sweet in more ways than one this is a fine piece of fiction with some murder, mystery, magic and fantasy.
